LillianParticipantA PCR test from a medical professional is required for all alleged work-related COVID claims. Home tests are not always reliable. The injured worker sends a copy of the results with his/her name on it to our HR Department. This is usually an email received from the medical professional. If a WC claim is filed, our insurance company begins the investigation process.
New definition of close contact has changed since they have discovered that it is airborne vs being transmitted through droplets. Instead of measuring a close contact to be within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more, it is now defined as sharing a common airspace for a total of 15 minutes or more within a 24 hour period.
