It is a requirement of all of our PE teachers and Campus Officers. The District provides the training twice a year and I use my ASCIP safety funds to pay for it. Coaches are not contracted employees so they have to pay for their own training. They have to be a contracted employee and it must be in their job description to keep a current certificate in order for the district to pick up the cost.

Here at Chaffey Joint Union High School District all but two of our eight High SChool campuses are irrigated with recycled water so no we do not follow the cities restrictions on those campuses.

Be careful… According to Calif Labor Code 2802 requires employers to reimburse for “all necessary business expenditures or losses incurred by the employee in direct consequence of the discharge of his or her duties” You can not expect an employee to use their personal cell phone for business unless you are reimbursing them for the use. We have had conversations about this with our unions in the past. Maybe voluntary if that is how they want to be communicated with but it can not be the only form of communication.

We asked the question of SSC and the response is below. We will continue with testing as required through the summer school and next year if there are no changes made by the Governor.

“Thank you for submitting your question to SSC. The August 11, 2021 order was an order of the State Public Health Officer, it has the force and effect of law and all local educational agencies and private schools in California must comply with it until it is officially revoked or replaced by a new order. To our knowledge, and based upon our research, the order has neither been replaced or revoked. So until that happens you are still required to test unvaccinated employees. Remember that order does not apply to board members or staff who are not at a school site or in regular contact with students.”

At Chaffey if a teacher has a medical exemption they still must wear a face shield that has a drape. I attached a picture of one. We also make sure that they have plexi shields hung from the ceilings between them and student, our Maintenance department makes and hangs these for us

WE went through the American Red Cross. They came out with 4 different vendors and demonstrated each device. The American Red Cross has special pricing with these vendors and provide some extras for free like the wall cabinets and cases. We have been dealing with them for about 5 years now and have been very happy. They also provide the monitoring system that is required through Plus Trac. My district currently has 88 AEDs on site in 8 high schools and other district offices/departments. i am not sure where you are located but you can reach out to me if you want my contact at American Red Cross. It is our understanding that all Adults weather Volunteer or paid that are on our campus must adhere. It is our understanding that we are responsible for anyone who is on our campus.

I think CalOSHA will be answering #2 for you. According to CASBO bulletin yesterday OSHA is requiring us to keep track of who is and who is not vaccinated and then we have to provide N95 mask to those who are not. The knowledge is also needed to determine if mask need to be worn by vaccinated. It is my understanding that if everyone in a room is vaccinated mask do not need to be worn but if you have one prson in the room who is not then all must wear a mask. There was suppose to be a CalOSHA meeting last night to determine more details but I have not yet seen what has come from that meeting. Also they are saying these new guidlines will not take effect until July 31 plenty of time for things to change between now and then.

Chaffey has installed this system district wide since our units could not support Merv 13 filters. Email me at jammee.digon@cjuhsd.net and I will forward your information to our Director of Facilities who has the whole scope on this. The units we went with are certificed ozone free.
