Utility Golf Cart – transportation of students

Good morning,

How do you handle transportation of students using your utility golf carts? Do you allow such transports or is it only for emergencies? I am concerned with the liability as there may not be seatbelts on these utility golf carts. There is no Board policy as of yet.

We have a few golf carts that are used for staff only. We have one temporary campus with a golf cart that we allow transport of students for emergency purposes only.

We have carts at the majority of our secondary sites. I created specific guidelines for use, maintenance, and require users to do ASCIP training, happy to share if needed. We authorize transportation of injured students in case of an emergency.
