Senate Bill (SB) 553 requires nearly all California employers, including local educational agencies, to establish, implement, and maintain a workplace violence prevention plan.

Has anyone created a workplace violence prevention plan? Thanks!

Hi Larry, I’m glad you asked. I will be starting on our very soon and was wondering the same thing.

I’m working on one. I have concerns about the overlap between this, SB 906 (20230701) and elements of the CSSP. There should be unified response to threats.

Cal/OSHA has had a template for close to 30 years. They call it a Model Workplace Security Injury and Illness Prevention Program. On the Cal/OSHA Publications Page, https://www.dir.ca.gov/dosh/puborder.asp, there is a link to Workplace Violence Prevention in the Publications Categories table. Otherwise, it is a long scroll down.
