After the tragic events in Uvalde, we are trying to get a better idea of any measures school districts may be taking to increase security at their sites. Any ideas or changes anyone has implemented? Thanks for your help.
Our Superintendent scheduled zoom meetings with our Facilities & Risk Managers with each site location to review their site security in place (we use a rating system) and then ask for any other concerns that we may be missing to harden our buildings.
I recommend that the District conduct a security assessment/audit to identify any potential exposures that need to be addressed. SB390 training for all your security and safety staff. Review your safety plans and ensure that all staff have a clear understanding on their role and areas of responsibility. When you hear it take action, when you see it say something.
