Good afternoon,
I am taking a survey for management regarding pre-employment physicals. Wondering if your District’s require pre-employment physicals for all employees or some employees. If yes, please advise if you require walk-on coaches and cheer coaches to have a physical. Also, if you don’t require all new employees to have a physical, please list some of the assignments that you do require and again, if it includes walk-on coaches and cheer coaches.
Thank you.

We only require pre-employment physicals for bus drivers.

It was relayed that we drug test all, but only the child development staff receive full physicals.
Wish we did require bus drivers, coaches, walk-on coaches, cheer coaches and teachers to have more done on pre-employment physicals.February 9, 2024 at 10:57 am #44414KinaParticipantHere at Walnut Valley USD we have all applicants take a physical and drug screening (classified, certificated, athletic, fine arts and walk on coaches, substitutes) at their own cost. We have our own Transportation dept so we also follow DOT guidelines for the bus drivers and mechanics. The applicants pay for the basic physical, drug and TB screening and then when there is additional testing such as back x-rays, lifting or Hep A testing for Nutrition Service employees our District covers those costs.
Not a physical but in addition to fingerprinting we now also run all applicant names through the NASDTEC clearinghouse
