Does anyone have a non parent site visitors procedure they can share with me? We have 403b financial reps, as well as, entities like Grand Canyon University, who stop by our school sites unannounced wanting to bring donuts and coffee or attend staff meetings. Some of the financial reps, just walk onto the campus without checking in and when approached by staff they say the District has authorized them to be there. We are trying to write a detailed protocol to provide to all sites. These are not really Use of Facilities situations so wondering what other Districts are doing. Thank you.

We’ve communicated to site secretaries and administrators that if someone is approved to come on campus, they’ll receive an email from Business Services. For years, we’ve never allowed these vendors on campus and our staff is pretty used to it. The vendors, every once in a while, will try something sneaky. We send them basically a “cease and desist” notice as soon as we hear they’ve attempted to come onto campus and it stops immediately. I think the word has spread the VVUSD doesn’t allow it and they avoid us now! So, no written policy but basic communication with our sites and consistency has lead to our success over here!
