When a school shooting takes place in our county it can be very concerning and stressful for school personnel (office employees, teachers, district staff). Of course it did not happen on their campus, but the situation is a reminder (and unfortunately a regular reminder) of the importance of need for campus safety and mental health support. Please consider:
What do you do to support the staff after an incident.
1) Have counselors available for staff (do you use internal resources)
2) Remind everyone of EAP services
3) Cabinet-level school checkins (the how are you doing outreach to staff)
4) Parent meetings
What else can we do to let staff know that we support and understand them?
